Every now and then, stuff just comes off the factory line that is defective. We used to have enough moral clarity to know that.

Indeed we did. It was called common sense. And in regard to that kid in my hospitals psych unit, his mother was arguing with the doctor to let her take him home.

Here in NJ the law says if you're a danger to yourself or others it is a MANDATORY 72 hour observation period before you're either released or sent to another facility for further treatment, no if ands or buts about it and this stupid woman was trying to take the kid home.
