I don’t care for apple desserts, but your pie is beautiful!
Yeah! I just love making them, the way my mom did. I forced her to teach me how she did it before she passed on...:)
I made sure I watched her, too. My lovely mother was willing to share, but she left things out of her recipies when she told you or wrote them down.
So I cooked with her and took notes as she did it. Boy, could she cook.
I don’t even care much for Lemon Merengue pies, but just wow, she made gorgeous ones, like a tumultous North Atlantic ocean, except the ocean, instead of dark blue or black was the snowy white merengue, and instead of the brilliant whitecaps, the white waves are topped at their tiny crests with just the right amount of tan browning!
I also beat an egg, and brush the entire top to give it that wonderful color.
And, warm out of the oven, with a big glass of cold milk...just perfect!
