Replacing the coal plant with nuclear energy is a smart move, if the nuclear plants are operational. Unfortunately half of France’s nuke plants are down, some for routine maintenance, some for repairs. Wouldn’t be a big problem if natural gas wasn’t in short supply.

The problem with powering generating plants with natural gas is now you’re competing with people and businesses for a resource. Not many people or businesses are using coal.
