Hard to believe she’s gone. She was really big in the early 1980s. My old girlfriend liked her and dragged me to the “Flashdance” movie against my will but it was not the worst night I’ve had.
Wow...I’m stunned to hear the news.
At the time of “Flashdance”, she had run into a contract dispute where she was unable to perform any of her prior work, such as “Fame”...this song was her first that she owned outright.

Songs like Flashdance and Why Me were part of the soundtrack of my life back in 1983-84. Good memories.
