I’ll save you the trauma of actually picking up a history book. Stalin fought the battle, kept the civilians there to bleed the Germans and to sway the PR to try to keep support for the war effort. DC is using the suffering of the hapless Uke citizens to bleed Russia and to keep their hinterland globalist stooge partners engaged in the globalist war effort.
