When I was a tyke, I thought everything in a cup or bottle was a drink.
Mom was doing laundry and a cup of bleach was nearby, so I drank it.
Promptly threw up and ruined her new rug. Boy, was she mad.
What broke me was a bottle of apple vinegar which I grabbed and guzzled.
It took my breathe away but my mother just belly laughed at the gagging and the soured look on my face. She knew the vinegar wasn’t going to hurt me.
She loved telling that story to her granddaughters.

Is it common to have glasses full of bleach randomly placed in the courtroom so some distraught defendant can pick one up and chug it?

He should have been cuffed, both in the courtroom, and wherever he was drinking the bleach. From my experience, the Judge is the only authority who can tell the escorting officers to remove the cuffs. If the court was on a break at the time, but he was still in the courtroom, he should have been immediately cuffed when the break was called. How the hell did he get access to bleach in a courtroom? Hillary wasn’t there with her bleach-bit, wiping her server clean...with a cloth, was she?

Prisoners and convicts should have the right to kill themselves. I don’t see why the state is so intent on keeping people alive against their will.
