I can say my eGFR has improved this last test by 8% using creatinine and 12% when using Cystatin-C for eGFR, for the first time. This was even without the adjustments for height and weight, now encouraged. When you add those in, my eGFR shot up over another 30 points, showing my kidneys were actually over 40% better than was previously shown, all together.
I would say that you can positively affect your eGFR, despite this study’s conclusion.
I thought creatine use wasn’t recommended if you had kidney issues?
I’m not seeing what constitutes a Good Diet.
Creatinine is different than creatine, and you take neither for your eGFR creatinine-based kidney function test.
Cystatin-C is a newer alternative, believed to be more accurate, and it showed my kidneys were better than what the normal creatinine eGFR test saw.
You can do that with a lot of exercise, fewer calories, fewer carbs, etc.—whatever allows you to get your blood sugar and insulin to properly work again.
I personally believe that a lower/low carb approach is the better food approach to getting there, but a higher carb diet without simple sugars and reasonable exercise can do it, too.
Hah! Sorry, I completely misread that!
There are herbs that can improve kidneys, and many more, the liver.
.
Salt, pepper, garlic and onions. Maybe a little ketchup.
Yep.
Best herb for the liver: milk thistle. Can allow the liver to regenerate itself.

I prefer my liver fried… with onions. ;-)
The trick is to stop.... I am writing this while drinking a glass of soda and a glass of water. The soda somehow empties first and sometimes second etc before I need to refill the glass of water.....

The Mullein Leaf Capsules 1500mg I have been taking seem to work. I take 2 a day.
This is my 4th day and I have had 2 nights with no issues with that uncomfortable swelling / tingling feeling in the lower legs.
It was gone. The other days were less of an issue then before but there at night. It could be what you last eat as well and when you take the Mullein Leaf Capsules makes the difference.
I am also taking 2 capsules of Nature’s Bounty Cinnamon 1,000 mg Caps.
“Cinnamon does have antioxidant, antibiotic, and anti-inflammatory properties”
Maybe the two combined are helping.

Dr. Berg is excellent.
As usual the medical industry is late to the party.
Even my own doctor, who I believe is excellent, was unaware of the benefits of the keto diet until I showed her how it affected my stats. I did so by slipping off the diet for a while--inadvertently eating some hidden carbs that were too tasty to resist. When she commented on my rise in blood pressure and bad cholesterol, I admitted I had added some "low carb" tortillas to my diet that I suspected weren't actually low carb. My test strips indicated that I was no longer in ketosis.
Long story short, I told her I would immediately return to my regular keto diet right away and we could see if it had any effect when I had my next blood workup.
Well, you can guess the results. Next bloodwork showed everything previously bad was now in good order...and I had lost 5 lbs.
She was sold and decided to look into everything keto.
She said that the medical industry was slow to adapt because there was an orthodoxy to medicine and a hesitancy to move to new treatments. Ergo, that is why you can't expect your doctor to be on the cutting edge of discovery. Of course, keto has been around for a very long time (I have been on--and off--it since the 1970s), so I can't understand the resistance.
Thnx.
The most important thing one can do to preserve any organ in the body is to stay the hell away from the spike protein.
