Other points to consider - people who suffered and even died because they couldn't get treatment or even meds. It wasn't that they were "afraid", the clinics and other facilities slammed shut. You couldn't even get an appointment, at times not even anyone to talk to over the phone. There was no plan or strategy for any continuance of providing care for chronic or terminally ill people besides shutting everything down and hiding out. A heavy toll of casualties resulted from that which nobody of any stature wants to talk about or accept responsibility for.

 

The violence - besides the numerous confrontations at businesses over masks, there was retaliation activity resulting due to snitching to police, over things like gatherings of people at private residences. Creating tensions that contributed to further degrading civility in society which continues to this day.
