UNREAL. Parent in @friscoisd reads from a pornographic book available to kids. A board member stops her and says “there’s a child in our board room.”
They acknowledge it’s inappropriate to read in front of children but these books can be in the school library. Make it make sense

The same thing happened at our school board meeting. I witnessed it.
This is so sad. I feel grateful to have grown up when I did. It was different, no doubt.
I cannot fathom why people would send their kids to public schools these days.

There are people on this site that are some combination of agitators, miscreants, confused, addled, insolent and just plain wrong headed, unredeemable and best just ignored. You just met one of them
Absolutely. I'd add projecting the words onto the school as well as the board members' houses. Let them live with the filth they dispense.

Same here but I weep for my grandkids. Sad, sick, evil world we’re living in.
And the School Board members, particularly the chair, seem completely unaware of the irony.
Kind of like the President in the movie “Dr. Strangelove” shouting at the wrestling USAF General and Soviet Ambassador:
“GENTLEMEN! YOU CAN’T FIGHT IN HERE! THIS IS THE WAR ROOM!”
There are lots of things people can disagree on, but this is not one of them, in my considered opinion.
The board members were yelling at the mother to stop reading the porn. It was how to do oral sex. She kept reading. She was brave. It’s the Lorah online library that schools subscribe to.
As long as they don’t pull the books, they are showing that the problem is not with the porn in the schools that the kids have access to, but that it’s being made public that that is what they are doing.

Going to school board meetings is an ordeal. We go through metal detectors and there are at least six police officers there. Plus, the board hates us. One father got arrested and the board pressed charges. He had to pay thousands in fines and is banned.

That is just disgusting. That makes them as bad as any dictator like Stalin, Mao, Castro, etc. The only difference is a matter of scale.
