A great song from my youth but played to death. Like “Hotel California”, “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head” and “Candyman” I never have to hear it again.

I saw them on a cable channel on Sling tv that had 4k performances from a stadium. They were awful sounding.
I am guessing they are studio band and not a live band.

“I am guessing they are studio band and not a live band“

I’m a huge fan of the Stones but I have to say that I’ve never heard the band on the albums in any live performance. In my old age I don’t think the Stones to any great degree play on the studio versions. Maybe early on and here or there but not as a rule. A guitarist’s left hand is very discernible in a performance. Even if the exact virtuosity of the studio performance isn’t there you’re going to hear and identify that left hand live. (Or right hand in the case of left handed players). I just don’t hear the left hand live that I hear on the studio stuff.

An excellent example is Honky Tonk Woman. There is tremendous left hand (and some right hand) subtlety in the lead line as it winds throughout the song. I’ve heard young guitarists play that line perfectly live. I’ve never heard the Stones do it. Once I couldn’t even identify the song until the lyrics kicked in.

I think Mick puts those songs together and uses session guys a high percentage of the time. When the Stones cover a song live they sound fine yet on THEIR OWN stuff live…not so much.
