A relative of mine was driving a S class when they got hit head on by a person suffering a medical emergency some years ago. The cop at the scene told the relative they likely would have died in a less fortified car. Fortunately for the relative, they walked with some bumps and bruises after a brief visit to the ER.
I learned that in 1985 when my 1970 Coupe DeVille given to a teenage nephew was in a head on highway speed crash with a drunk driven Chevy Monza. Both the drunk driver car occupants died at the scene and my nephew had a seat belt bruise on his collarbone.
