"What's Wrong with Secretary Kim" begins with Secretary Kim telling her boss that she's going to quit in order to find a husband and her own life. Fighting down panic, he decides to stop her quitting by offering to let her marry him. After all, she's like a fitted suit that's been custom made for him since he's trained her for her entire working career. For some reason, this proposal doesn't work. His panic grows as he tries to understand what it will take to get her to marry him since she says she doesn't want to marry rich, but marry normal. And so he sets out to prove that he can be normal. With great difficulty.
The subplot revolves around the mystery of the kidnapping of the boss and of the secretary when they were children, and how she comes to recognize who was her childhood companion in terror.
