Just maybe it defies physics to travel fast enough to cross vast distances in the life of an extraterrestrial or humans for that matter.

An AI probe could hibernate for thousands of years as it crossed interstellar distances. I could see a high-tech civilization sending out thousands of such probes (like we sent out Voyager with a message), if only to be able to tell other civilizations "We were here".

There is no reason or evidence to believe that Life exists elsewhere in the Universe other than guesses, hunches and the assumption of probability. In other words, faith in something unseen.

I used to be on board with this view but no more. I now think it’s more likely that We are the only game in town.

Life is so magic, special and Divine that it’s taken all the Universe to brew us up, to bake the cake, with The Good Lord being the Master Chef, lighting the oven as he did so long ago.
