Maybe some of the problem is with the ads themselves, which have become so inane, moronic, woke, and embarrassing that I now mute them. To make matters worse, the music in ads is increasingly loud and grating, often in a rap style.
More and more ads are simply "feel good" ads boasting of the company's supposed values and commitment to the "community." Often, they contain little or no actual information about their product or service; it is all sloganeering and virtue-signaling. Another annoying trend is to use nouns as verbs, as in "A new way to pizza."
