I agree the clue was somewhat tasteless (just my opinion) but a group of people posting about it on social media is not a news story.
They also posted a news story about a guest host (also the producer of the show at the time) who filled in for a considerable period of time after Trebek passed away about how wonderful they all thought he was and he was the fans choice to be the new host. They picked him as the new host (for a time) and they posted a story after the announcement about how fans were outraged they would pick someone no one had even heard of.
