Of course not. The opposite was true. The idea was that the opposing ideology was the problem in reconciliation with the world, hence it was dropped. It proved wrong, not to mention that the world is not the same anymore.

LOL, as if there was some voluntary decision by the Soviets to “drop” the ideology. No, they lost control over their empire and once much of it had permanently slipped their grasp, only then did they accept that they had to adapt.
