I can tell you have a great sense of humor, LOL.
No doubt. After my HP25, I purchased an HP-16C. It is a programmer's calculator. I used it daily while teaching an embedded systems course. I added a 12C financial version later. Great for doing financial "what if" evaluations in my engineering job.
When I took my FCC exam for First Class Radiotelephone, the examiner at the office inspected calculators to be sure non of them had stored functions useful for the exam. The exam contents include a mix of answers calculated to fine precision. One it right. The others are wrong and intended to catch those who misunderstood the question. At least you can calculate a high precision wrong answer :-)
NO. not at all
I remember it well. I bought one in my third year of engineering school even tho we didn’t have much money. Made my life so much easier.
It was and still is an amazing breakthrough for a lot of you engineer guys.
One of our DNA descendants got the last year OJ Simpson Bronco as an early inheritance from us about a decade ago.
He had planned originally to sell it and is apparently having some friends and some former Ford employees retrofitting it. He buys the parts/add ons and they provide excellent free labor.
Apparently, some of these old durables can become useful as well as collector items due to people still liking to work on them and if parts are available.
My wife has a 2015 BMW that just required its 1st new battery.
Out here in LaLa land some guys and gals who are mechanically oriented are using old BMWs as a spare parts warehouse for used American and Japanese cars.
Your post sounds so familiar.
A GK will be graduated with an engineering degree next year.
He has a job offer with a good firm, and they gave him an early graduation present, one of these great calculators.
He can basically program and use any computer, this is what he wanted, one like his Dad had and now has.
Really.
“There’s a row of Mercedes at the local pick and pull. They look like they could be on a high end used car lot. I asked and was told, “Well, that one needs a new engine...$15000. That one needs a transmission...$12000 and the rest need one or more computers, none of which are available”
Drop an LS1 drivetrain in.
Well, it lives again. Good choice, pops.
Thanks.
It served me well for a decade plus with a lot hunting, fishing and Kayaking and just driving in terrible weather.
Ultimately GM and Ford will be defacto owned by the government who will chronically subsidize the money losing companies to “preserve jobs and promote a greater good”. This is socialism in action.
Comrade, enjoy driving your electric Trabant that you waited ten years to buy.
I had a 1975 wi the 2.0 and dual Webers. It ate money, was ok fun at the time but too much trouble. Much later in life I got a Honda S2000. It had fantastic performance with the maintenance schedule of an Accord.
Great observation.
The German cars are like German tanks in WW2. High performance and high maintenance.
I know there are a lot of BMWs getting LS motor swaps.
I have a 2016 honda accord with just 49,000 miles on it. I bought in 2019 and do not drive it much yet.
How much does a Headlight Bulb Replacement cost?
On average, the cost for a Honda Accord Headlight Bulb Replacement is $106 with $11 for parts and $95 for labor.
How much does a Tail Light Bulb Replacement cost?
On average, the cost for a Honda Accord Tail Light Bulb Replacement is $96 with $1 for parts and $95 for labor.
Tires are around $200 EACH....
Here is an owner reacting after hearing about the cost....
