My colleagues asked me why I was retiring at sixty eight. I told them I wanted to stop working before, I embarrassed myself and harmed my patients. It was the hardest thing I ever did. Trump is embarrassing himself and harming the country. It’s sad.
Good post—I retired at 66 at least partially because my memory for detail was starting to decline—and my job required mastery of lots of detail.
My co-workers and my boss did not see it—but I did.
I have always been brutally honest with myself—and knew it was time.
