I actually like the “nuke the fridge” scene ... that kind of crap is what I love about movies :-) ... over the top nonsense and fun. In fact, that entire sequence (the opening titles up thru atomic blast) was solid! :-) That’s just me though ... I certainly see why people disliked it.

What I didn’t like was the entire middle part of that movie ... aside from the fist fight with the Soviets while the big ants are around, it was pretty boring and predictable. That whole fencing scene was filler, that tarzan scene was downright horrible, and the whole “fall off the waterfalls” crap was a rehash of Temple of Doom.

I thought it got better once the waterfall nonsense was over, but I know that “aliens in an Indy movie” isn’t for everyone ... my dad and I got a kick out of it though ... he got me hooked on 50s sci fi and the whole last 1/3 of that movie felt like one :-).

I think Disney execs are only concerned about making this film into a two hour trailer for their TV show ... and you know it’ll be extreme-wokeness galore. I saw that chick that’s the female lead in some UK TV show called Fleabag ... I couldn’t stand her. She’s rumored to be getting Indy’s hat at the end of the theatrical shit show that will be released next year.

Look on the bright side ... Disney has basically killed Star Wars (there is no way they weren’t expecting to make billions off that IP 10 years after they bought it) and they’re going to kill Indiana Jones. They’re murdering Marvel. I get that they’re still profiting off the IP, but those margins are shrinking every year. Someone is going to be able to snatch up a lot of murdered IP at a discount in the not so distant future. I just hope it’s someone that will do *something* worth watching. I used to love Star Wars and Indy, but outside of Mandalorian (and Andor to some extent), everything they’ve released has been complete trash.
