I actually considered posting a similar vanity. I agree.
The 2020 election was a national catastrophe. Trump was a superb president and his accomplishments are too numerous to post here.
I love Donald Trump. I voted for him in 2016 and 2020 and would crawl through a mile of broken glass to vote for him again.
But, at this point he’s doing more harm than good. I hate to say it, but it’s true. If he was capable of just being quiet for a year or two his legacy could propel excellent GOP candidates to widespread victories all over America.
Instead, he’s a drag on conservatives. He has endorsed bad candidates destined to lose (Oz? Seriously?) and this red trickle is the result.
Don't dis the Old Guard, bro. They are entitled to their opinions, and I completely understand why they might still back Trump.
Besides, I *AM* Old Guard.
He lost me with talking shit on DeSantis. I’m so tired of the crass,
child-like name calling and the endless self-aggrandizement. It’s not effective anymore. DeSantis is the future, Trump’s done.
Yeah but you know I did it better.... :^)
Yes. I got the quote correctly. OP @ 159 did not.
No doubt.
I like DeSantis in Florida.
You know who I like for 2024?
Kari Lake.
She has Trump's fight but Reagan's charm. She neatly disassembles the press every time she talks to them.
Turn out. Turn out was 40% here in Bexar county (San Antonio Tx)—all the stories of red waves and tsunamis didn’t help—it makes people lazy and sit home.
Pride before the fall and all that.
We have about a 60/40 split for judge.
We had a HORRIBLE power hungry judge during COVID but his hand picked successor is running away with it.
Most of the young people don’t want freedom from anything but responsibility, they believe in government.
They gobble up all the garbage from college, celebrities and social media. Putty.
Keep those hugs and kisses for your fellow Republicans, the same people who you've cheered for x 30 years as guys like me tried our best to bring our nation to a America First position. Now run along and continue pretending you can hit anything more than a bottle of Kaopectate.
I thought he did very well in most instances. His staff was in constant flux, which meant that he treated people poorly. He would have attracted less media and leftist outrage if he would have controlled his mouth; and, that would have enabled completion of other efforts that were quashed in retaliation.
He made no effort during the January 6th fracas to diffuse the situation. It was very obvious to me that the democrats would turn that into a circus. If I could see that, Trump should have seen that. Trump seemed like he was basking in the glow of people fighting for him.
Almost anybody else will deal will that in a professional, rational, and uplifting manner.
Laz, very well stated. I greatly appreciate President Trump’s successes and efforts, but it is really time to move on.
Well said. I agree.
Thanks for sharing your opinion. I respect it, GingisK.
Priceless response, Laz!
Laz, I stand by my words…..
…but I’m sorry if it hurt you.
You’ve always been kind to me…
You have much influence here….( obviously, look at the responses)
FR will be divided
America will be divided
If you all pursue this direction.
I have had my say
I love Kari Lake and she’s young enough to run.
Thanks guys (and gals).
And usc: Yours is the only opinion I was worried about. You’re a dear friend, I’d have hated to lose you over this.
I give the credit for Florida’s win last night to the Republican Party of Florida. They worked very hard to get the wins in FL. I live in a blue county and it just flipped red last night. We had canvassers, callers, flyers, ads, poll workers and watchers (which I was one). There were meetings in small towns that brought people together. Plus a legislature that really worked to get reasonable laws passed that still allowed some abortions, critical race theory out of the schools and sexual orientation out of the classroom under a certain age. It all worked for us and the state. And of course a great governor in Ron DeSantis.
It’s 2 years away. We need to just be watchful. And with what the left is doing, will there even BE a USA in 2 years? It’s going to be a bumpy ride!
