Viable, but that presumes the Windows user knows how to create a Linux live USB, and boot from it, what a "Terminal" is/where, and which drive it which. My instructions on booting can partly help. Under Linux there is also the option to clone partition via GParted

True, Using window is really its own punishment. I leave windows users to suffer in their own squalor.

I myself - having tried every major and many minor Linux distros, and long-time user of Windows (from W/9x and now W/11, and for $30 since upgrading to W/8 on the retail channel) and customizer of the same - have found the rather extensive customization I want to be far easier and obtainable than my Linux experience. See here. Nothing presently warrants the time it would take to get Linux the way I myself want it, even if possible. But thank God for alternatives. I run Mint on a couple older PCs, without proprietary multimedia codecs however.
