A ha! I have my own ISP.

Except all the parts are made offshore.

Therefore, weekly I punch myself in the face as penance.

Thanks for seeing my tongue planted firmly in my cheek.

If you boycott everything damned on FR over the years, you essentially have to become Amish. (not THAT Amish).

We use Progresso soups, Bisquick (once a year in a recipe) and Old El Paso (refried beans).

I do the grocery shopping for our family - nobody else wants to do it and I am the only real cook in the family now. Very simple to change brands for everything except the Progresso soups. I’ll probably still buy Progresso’s New England Clam Chowder. For everything else I’ll just make more of my own soups, as I do very frequently anyhow, and buy more Rao’s soups (a bit pricey and great quality but the variety is lacking).

Refried beans, from cooked, dried beans, are EASY and the best tasting.

“I doubt everyone has the time to go through every piece of information on food products...”

I appreciate your effort. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

Too many companies have been playing the political profit game for a long time, many times behind the view of it. I just thought it might be easier for the people to see the General Mills trademark and leave it on the shelves. May take away from having to read everything. And there is a domino effect. If GM products are staying on the shelves, and other company’s are being used instead, then the grocers will start cutting shelving space for that which sells. They like to eat too. Just a thought.

I have avoided General Mills products for a few years now. Started when they began waving the pride flag.

I don't need their crap!

To: shadowlands1960; All

Annie’s, Green Giant and Nature Valley Granola bars are the only ones I have bought in the last 5-10 years. I can live without them.

In between my last summer in college(1985) and taking my first full time job I worked right next door to the Cheerios factory on the Buffalo River in Buffalo, NY. There was an abandoned grain elevator right next door. It was a very dirty industrial area. They used to have illegal drag races on Ohio street right in front.

The whole area smelled like BURNT Cheerios. Whenever they would burn a batch of Cheerios they went out a conveyor to a huge pile outside. Lots of people would come during the day to get the free burnt Cheerios to feed their animals(pigs, horses, cows, etc). At night the RATS came out. They were huge well fed rats because they ate Cheerios. I am not kidding when I say they were the size of cats.

Thanks for that suggestion, I’ll give Rosarita’s a try. I think I’ve seen that in the stores around here.

General Mills was the first company to use interracial couples on tv, in a Cherios commercial. I have not had any of their products in my house since.

I don’t mind the inter racial couples thing so much, my second wife was black... what I don’t like is knowing the reason they are doing it.. it’s propaganda. You hardly even see white males portrayed anymore and when they are they are weaklings or subservient...
