I think it’s kind of a catch 22. Normally you do not get into the field of mental health unless you are ****ed up in some ways yourself. A “normal” person usually would find another career instead of doing mental health. But like you said, we need more sane minds in this field.
Psychology is a gravy academic. It attracts lazy and/or stupid slackers. That, plus the fact that what is an absolute today might be discarded tomorrow.
What an idiotic field. No wonder their practitioners are insane.

They have no god. They render everything to government, which is dysfunctional, corrupt and completely inadequate at delivering what they want. They have replaced God with something completely unfulfilling. In short, there is absolutely nothing to look up to, nothing to strive to be like, nothing greater than themselves. That is hopeless. It leads to mental illness.

The professor gets the discussion going and then heads to the faculty lounge for fifteens minutes or so-has coffee and chats with other profs then heads back to the class. Listens to a few students and then wraps the course up for the day.
According to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Actualization, liberal women never get to the Level 5, actualization because they can’t get to Level 1 which is sanity..
Little pills may not be a cure all. They’re better treatment then validating and enabling mental illness because that’s what passes for treatment now!

Exactly right. Psychologists and psychiatrists are basically the priesthood of secular society. Having a session with them is their version of the confessional. They’d be much better off going to the real thing or talking things over with a clergyman but they long ago rejected that so they are left with their fellow crazies to work things out.
