We have to go to the old analysis that conservatives take Trump seriously, while liberals take him literally. I thought it was pretty funny and probably didn’t do any harm. Could be that he’s seriously considering Desantis for VP but wanted to squelch the rumors. Trump is more cagey than narssistic, and sometimes just mischievous.

That was Selena Zito's observation, and I thought it was brilliant when she made it.

The thing is...I was willing to cut the guy some slack because he wasn't a politician, and so would be less likely to watch what he said. But I also expected him to improve so I wouldn't have to run everything througha Trumpian filter. Because words do matter.

But not only has he not gotten better - he actually seems at this point to say those kind of things deliberately, just to piss people off. He thinks it is funny and it amuses his most adoring supporters, so why not?,

I'm tired of having to spin everything he says, and to defend his statements in political discussions with others. It's indefensibly sloppy and unserious at this point

I don’t know about that. He’s been saying some weird things lately.

Mid seventies is when Alzheimers typically starts developing in men.

Loss of restraint in speech and good manners is one of the most shocking early symptoms.

Just saying.
