Whether abortion is legal or not, it has been practiced in China for centuries. As a matter of fact, China is releasing data from their 2020 census and they’ve overcounted their population by one hundred million. Most of those were females who would have been born after the one child policy. This means that by the end of the century the population of China will be half what it is today. That’s if there’s no mass starvation from Chaiman Xi’s new Cultural Revolution. Which seems unlikely. As for Asians being over here, I doubt they’re making their vote contingent on this one policy. That’s because they don’t rely as heavily on the “normal” medical community for their treatments. I’m guessing they don’t like four-dollar gas and high taxes any more than the rest of us. I suspect this is a political scare article like the ones saying the Democrat is leading the Republican by X percent until a day before the election.
My impression from bein in east Asia is that a child is considered really a person until it is a year old and really young children (toddlers) were not considered much of a person. After child got to be about 5/6 the family really doted on them in a way most Americans would think a bit much. But then little east Asian kids are often just absolutely delightful.
“I’m guessing they don’t like four-dollar gas and high taxes any more than the rest of us. “
Not to mention them being discriminated against in higher education and rhe rising black on Asian crime rates.
These issues are much more important to them than abortion since they still can get one, especially in states where most of them live.
