There is an area in southern Illinois (Carbondale area) which was in the path of the total eclipse in 2017 and will see the total eclipse in 2024 (weather permitting, of course).

Three places I have lived in will get the total eclipse in 2024, but not where I live now.

It’s worth traveling for the few minutes, I’m here to tell you. We drove around 2-1/2 hours in 2017. Totally worth it.

In 2024, it’s be more like 7 hours of driving one way, but we’ll split it up. There’s family in central KY.
