Looks like the targeted student was a protected minority. Big mistake in this day and age.

Agree though, that tirades like this were not unusual in the chemistry curriculum when I was in school in the 80’s

What is worse he probably was failing and was acting a fool during class time, probably did not know the subject matter, got to college by way of affirmative action.

I remember ads back in the day by the “United Negro College fund” saying “A mind is a terrible thing to waste”. Problem in these days that ad needs to be ran for the kids in Kindergarten not college.

It happened only once when I was in college. One of the students had asked for a due date extension on a paper which was granted to the entire class. When the extended due date came around, the student who asked for the extension was still late with it.
