"If some people had wings and others didn't, and the government wanted to enforce "fairness," soon no one would have wings. Because wings cannot be redistributed, they can only be broken. Likewise, a government edict cannot make people smarter or more capable, but it can impede the growth of those with the potential. Wouldn't it be fair if, in the name of equality, we scar the beautiful, cripple the athletes, lobotomize the scientists, blind the artists, and sever the hands of the musicians? Why not?"

Not to jack the thread here, and slightly O/T; FEE.org has a pretty good YouTube channel.
No one can then point us out, measure us against others, and expose our inferiority.
Great article. The above line jumped out to me.
This is the same reason beta males want to outlaw guns. They are afraid to protect their families, and want to outsource the job to the government. They come after our guns to conceal their own weakness.
Equality isn’t where it’s at anymore…it’s EQUITY now…get with it…redistribute labor and wealth…c’mon man…
Special treatment is NOT equal treatment!
If you want to make all the organs in the body equal you’re asking for instant death.
Equal before the law is a worthy goal. It’s what we all ‘rule of law’. It means if some lowlife criminal hits Paul Pelosi in the head with a hammer or hits Joe Common Citizen with a hammer, the law will treat both criminals the same.
In the California hellhole the man who hit Paul Pelosi is still in jail and will likely go to prison. The same lowlife criminal hammering one of us would have been out of jail before we were out of the hospital. That NOT equal before the law.
People who confuse ‘equal before the law’ with ‘equal outcome’ are morally flawed, manipulative and likely compromised. It’s where we get the flawed ideas of communism - and the reason communism outcomes include starvation, corruption and degradation of the human spirt.
Equal before the law means if some lowlife criminal hits Paul Pelosi in the head with a hammer or hits Joe Common Citizen with a hammer, the law treats both criminals the same.
Or as Tocqueville so eloquently put it...
“There is, in fact, a manly and lawful passion for equality which excites men to wish all to be powerful and honored. This passion tends to elevate the humble to the rank of the great; but there exists also in the human heart a depraved taste for equality, which impels the weak to attempt to lower the powerful to their own level, and reduces men to prefer equality in slavery to inequality with freedom.”
