Many women would like that deal, but most men don't want their wives to stay home with the kids. They want their wives to bring home an income.

Agreed! That’s another consequence of the feminist agenda. Once they convinced women that they were not contributing anything of worth to society by NOT being in the workforce and by making a home for all, then men gradually changed their thinking as well. Rather than fill their role as providers, they now expect women to bring in part of the income, pay half the tab, etc. Women really ripped themselves off, their children and their husbands when they started demanding being treated like men.
My guess: She was self-centered and wanted to talk about kicking her husband to the curb without a good reason. Constantly. When she actually did it, people took that as a good reason to limit time. Now that her husband was gone, she turned down invitations because “kids”. Eventually, people quit asking.
Because men and women are different down to the cellular level?
As she said in the article, some of the husbands came sniffing around, and she sent them off. Probably the reason why the wives were too insecure to keep on including her—they sensed their husbands were cheating dogs. There's always one or two in a small social group you can't be alone in the kitchen with.
Comment of the century to date!
Raising children and homemaking are important roles that should be appreciated and respected. But, I think mostly men are to blame for not appreciating women in those roles. Back in the day, most women did not agree with feminists who criticized other women for staying home with their children. But, many men sure liked what those early feminists were saying (and doing).
I heard a quote from an old Indian.
“The men go hunting and fishing every day. The women cook and care for the home and children. Only the White Man would think he could improve on that”
Not to mention sitting around the campfire every night smoking peace pipes and eating magic mushrooms and peyote..

No kidding. She could have cheated on him or detonated the marriage. Some context would be helpful.
Keeping the home fires burning and caring for and bringing up the next generation are actually more important than a job.
If you have a great career, and you die, you may be missed, but replaced fairly quickly. Nobody replaces a lost mom.

Quite the opposite. A few days after terminating my account, Facebook didn't matter and ceased to exist in my life. I have the same number of friends now, as I had before joining facebook. All the old acquaintances that facebook reacquainted me with, have settled back into place, where they belong. The process of living each day, settles who is part of your life, not facebook. As for the woman who lost all of her husband's friends, looks like she's back to the same friend count she had before meeting him...
And in the ways it was more than fair, well that's all gone. Ponder that as you drive into the office and sit in your cubical all day.
