The Nets fired Steve Nash on Tuesday amid a disappointing 2-5 start that has been marred by off-court drama, including Kyrie Irving’s social media promotion of an anti-Semitic film. The team’s interim head coach is Jacque Vaughn.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and The Athletic’s Shams Charania both reported that the Nets plan to hire Udoka to replace Nash.
Udoka was suspended by the Celtics for at least a year after an investigation revealed that he had an affair with a female subordinate. Charania reported in The Athletic that Udoka also made “unwanted comments” to the woman, and Wojnarowski reported that the coach used “crude language.”

Suspended for the year actually. But he wasnt going to coach in Boston again. Strangest thing is the Celts just let him walk with no compensation it would seem.

“This guy just got fired for a scandal”
Being an insufferable Marxist should have done him in years ago.
I think he learned his lesson. Kyrie is going to love this coach.
They “let” a coach who coached them to them to the finals, and a lead in the finals in his first year? It seams like the Celtics lost in all this.
To be fair the Celts have some top tier players now. Coaches are coaches, players win championships. No one knows what Udoka really did and the Nets have nothing to offer really so perhaps just jettisoning this guy was the best move for the team from a PR perspective. Who knows. Good luck with that dumpster fire in NY.
Steve Nash is probably the happiest man in America this morning. Imagine having to try and coach these selfish entitled borderline psychotic people in NY. Players already demanding you fire Nash before the season starts. Jeez. Im sure Nash was the reason Kyrie was blanked for 3 qtrs last night before finishing with a whopping 4 pts.
