A Democratic prosecutor is sounding the alarm over an Illinois law that will end cash bail
A Democratic prosecutor in the Chicago-area is sounding the alarm over a criminal justice reform law that will "tie the hands" of prosecutors and "destroy the criminal justice system in Illinois."
The Safety, Accountability, Fairness and Equity-Today (SAFE-T) Act, signed by Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, D-Ill., in 2021, will implement sweeping reforms to Illinois’ criminal justice system, though it has drawn criticism from law enforcement professionals across the political spectrum.
"I never, in my 40-years in this profession, ever thought I'd ever see anything close to this," Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow told Fox News Digital in an interview. "The intent of this law is to destroy the criminal justice system in Illinois, and I'm not going to let that happen."

Incorrect. Glasgow's a straigt-up guy and he's been railing against the "SAFE-T" act since its first legislative draft. Glasgow's also the prosecutor who put Drew Peterson in jail, kept him there and weathered all the death threats against him and his family.
He may have a (D) after him, I'll tell you this having been a resident of Will County for 40+ years: he's more hardcore law & order than damn' near any Republican you'll ever meet in your life.
Glasgow walks the walk and he's been backing it up calling JB Prickster & Kwame Raoul flat-out liars every chance he gets. And he's done so since legislative draft #1 of the fraudulently named "Safe-T" act. Glasgow's led the charge against it since Day 1.
There is something inherently wrong with any man that is a Democrat, especially if he is against what Democrats want. There is a cognitive dissonance that is not to be trusted.

I watch very little TV and I've seen it. It's a damn' good ad.

This will further empty out Chicago (and further Illinois), a once proud city that worked to clean up during the Broken Window Theory era of Daley Jr. But that time is long gone. It is now a soulless war zone in which residents are fleeing. There are a few holdouts, which fail to acknowledge the decline and hang on to the good old days, but the city is a joke to the rest of country.
The problem is the bottom half of the state. I’m a Hoosier and have a few friends in Illinois and they all live in the bottom 2/3 of the state.
They all hate “chi town” and honestly want to secede and join Indiana. This crap always pushed in Chicago effects the southern part of the state that wants nothing to do with it.
Actually, most of us who live here in HELLINOIS would simply like to either wall off Shitcago from the rest of the state and not let anyone out, or cut Shitcago off from the rest of the state, kick it into the middle of lake Michigan, and shoot anyone who swims back to shore.

believe it or not, there’s an even WORSE provision in the “Criminal Protection Act”, namely LEOs are prohibited from removing trespassers from private property ... so some insane drugged out street bum could camp out in your backyard or even in your daughter’s bedroom, and the police are powerless to do anything about it ... this provision utterly destroys the purpose and concept of private property ...
This is the end result of what democracy brings a society, especially one that let’s everyone vote.

I hear you, but in Illinois most Republicans are slimeball democrats anyway (ie. Kinzinger, Rauner, Hastert, George Ryan, etc.). My favorite democrat is Sheriff David Clark from Milwaukee County. There are some democrats (old school) that are not communists.
Can the M.E. still remove a corpse? Seems a solution to the new provision has presented itself.
