BREAKING

Elon Musk reportedly appears unlikely to pay the fired executives of Twitter - previous CEO Parag, CFO Ned Segal, and legal Vijaya Gadde - as he fired the executives "for cause," meaning he did it because he alleged he had justification, per the NYT.

This is too far into 9D chess.

What I think will happen is that he is going to lose in court. These guys are going to get their payout and now more because of the lawsuit, but more important to Musk is that he retains his Rockstar image - “rock around like you just don’t care!”

Gone are the days of bland suit-wearing boring businessmen. On a new day we’ll have a celeberty-businessman competition.

“...and if I were a betting man I’d say Elon will lose.”

Certainly possible...but they’ll have to fight for their money and a lot of dirt may come out in the process.

Twitter may have cost $44B, but the entertainment value with Musk at the helm is priceless.

If they hurridly put got their extra nice golden parachutes put in AFTER rumors that Musk was buying Twitter out, then I think he has a case against paying them, but if they were there well before that, then legally I think Musk inherited it when he bought the company.

Non-aggression pact. He’s got them dead to rights on fraud I would think, and a bunch of SEC violations.

They leave poorly and quietly and get taken in by their globalist masters, and he won’t pants them in public.

That and the fact that they cooked the books re actual posters and bots. I suppose that impacted their financial reporting.

Did anyone notice that Donald Trump responded to Elon Musk on same Twitter thread, thanking him?

good ... he can bleed them dry while they fight in court for decades ... and then of course, there’s the issue of discovery that will work against them ...

I find it hard to believe Musk will pay them nothing. I believe they will get only a fraction of what they want. However, I also believe that Musk will so tarnish and ruin the reputations of these scum they may never work again.
During discovery, Musk will have the ability to TOTALLY expose Twitter for what it was, A DEEP STATE RUN purveyor of Lies and Misinformation. Damage will not be limited to these few “Fat Cats.” There are also a bunch of middle managers who most likely will also feel significant heat. The drones who did all the “coding” to stifle free speech will also be fired.
Curious to see what Tesla Engineers discovered in Twitter Code???
Wonder what hole Dorsey is hiding in. He may be more than a bit worried about what is found in the code.

Those who were fired have to initiate and pay for the litigation to get their bonuses. The cost of that litigation is proportionally insignificant to Elon, but likewise crushing to them. So, even if they eventually win, which is uncertain, they lose.

Way too much speculation right now. If the story is true, it will depend on what the “cause” is/was and what their contracts were.

If the cause is based on criminal acts (civil rights violations (as in first amendment), fraud, theft or a host of other examples), then he could very well prevail in court . . .

Nice, take away the Golden parachute and splat.

These former execs were pure Leftist evil. It explains alot as to why the Left would be so upset about what most people would be celebrating, free speech. Just like the Left took free speech off the liberal campuses. They can’t win an argument, so they eliminate that possibility.

“...then legally I think Musk inherited it when he bought the company.”

Every contract of that nature has fine print requirements.

Likely they were not being exactly transparent in their activities.

What I read was that Musk accused them of directly misleading him about how many fake "bot accounts" existed.
