I’ll let you in on a little secret. Many of what you call “software engineers” — those who really get off on “coding” — are basically high functioning autistics. I R one, that’s how I know. “Jealousy” and its close cousin defensiveness are just a few of the manifestations of that tweaked coder personality.
Many eventually learn their way out of the worst of their personality quirks — I’d like to think I did, over the years — although unfortunately some never do.

It was fun learning to write the code. Did a Loy of copy paste though..
My son is an aerospace engineer who codes for the space program and believe you me, he ain’t autistic. He is the greatest kid you would ever want to meet and he is also brilliant.
