A 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the Delphi murders of Libby German and Abigail Williams.
Richard Allen, 50, was taken into custody in Indiana on Friday. It remains unclear what exactly he has been charged with.
The girls were murdered in 2017 after arranging to meet a man on abandoned train tracks in the town of Delphi.
Their murders remained unsolved for five years. Allen's arrest is the first time his name has been publicly associated with the case.
Allen's connection to the girls remains unclear, and police say they will not hold any kind of press conference until Monday.
He was initially booked in to the county jail but was moved to a state facility shortly afterwards out of fears for his own safety.
In December, there was a flurry of excitement over the case after cops tied a fake Instagram profile of Anthony Shots to the investigation into the murders.
The person behind the account was Kegan Kline, who was 22 at the time of the murders and was arrested a month after them on suspicion of child porn possession.

That new part of the story is suspect. Everyone crossed that trestle. They were probably just going to do what most did. They got themselves stuck between him and a difficult hill.
The one girl started recording soon after seeing him on the bridge coming toward them. Does not sound like a meet up.
However, new info may have come put since I had watched the show.
Those girls were 14. Both had internet access and probably interacted on sites to chat and talk to boys. I do believe it was a meet up planned with two hunky boys. Actually it was a pedophile posing as teen boys and they were lured there. This creep knew when and where to find them.
If you followed this story there appears to be a kind of local ring of perverts around there and a couple have been questioned and were suspects.
It appears the guy arrested was because of a tip and reward. He is a local and worked at the CVS.
The questions we don’t now is was he tied to the other local pervs?
As for the video on the phone, there is more that we are not allowed to see, but it could just be no reason other than video recording scenes that day and this happened.
Thanks. Interesting, and disgusting, regarding the perv ring.
Wish they would round all of them up.
The one thing that I’ve heard that was new to me was that they think the perp took a souvenir from one of the victims. Could’ve been an article of clothing or jewelry or something.
I hope they have the right guy this time. Aren’t they supposed to have a press conference today sometime?
There are nsty criminals living hidden everywhere from homeless camps to the White House.
Yes, they are. I did not catch a time.
Me either. If you hear more, please ping me, and I’ll do the same. Thanks.
I found this video of the press conference from this morning. I haven’t watched all of it yet. Thought I’d let you know.

Not from Indiana, but I got ‘hooked’ on this case after listening to the podcast “Down the Hill: The Delphi Murders”
Although I’d listened to all the episodes, I kept it on my phone in the event of an update (none yet) and to not forget Libby and Abby.
So glad for all involved they’ve arrested someone - I was hoping I’d be alive long enough to see this day. Lots of emotion (Doug Carter, Tobe Leazenby) ... the girls touched a lot of hearts. The details of how they caught this guy will be interesting - he worked at the CVS in Delphi. Tobe Leazenby said years ago “I know that voice” ... I wonder if it was this guy.
Here’s the link to the podcast & also a documentary by the same folks if anyone is interested:

Thank you.
Thanks. I’m gonna have to listen to that. I have a close friend that lives near Delphi and we meet there on occasion. She used to walk that trail a lot, but has refused to ever since this, and I don’t blame her one bit. The whole thing has people pretty upset, with good reason.
State Police Superintendent Doug Carter said the woods are not the same since the girls were murdered and many people will no longer go on that trail. Don’t go alone, go in pairs at least, which the girls did .... and their murders happened in broad daylight. Not the ‘usual’.
There are a lot of podcasts who have done episodes on the Delphi murders and put forth theories as to how it happened. I have my own thoughts. The facts, as they come out, will be interesting but grim.
Grim, for sure. I will be watching this trial daily if it’s aired. I imagine it will be. Abby and Libby are shining stars. I hope their families are beginning to have the peace they deserve out of this nightmare.
