Earlier this month GOP Chair Ronna Romney McDaniel joined Steve Bannon on The War Room to discuss GOP efforts this election cycle.
Obviously, the Republican Party was caught flat-footed on Election Day on November 3, 2020, when President Trump exceeded all expectations and gained the most votes ever for a sitting president but ended up losing the election several days later in the greatest theft in US history to a corrupt, imbecile who spent most of his time in his basement during the campaign.
For some reason, Ronna McDaniel did not resign in shame at the time. She should have.
And, do not forget, when President Trump called supporters to the Ellipse in Washington DC on January 6th, one million patriotic Americans turned out in the cold while the GOP elites met at a Ritz Carlton resort on Amelia Island instead.
During her discussion with Steve Bannon, Ronna McDaniel urged Republicans to vote early.
(scroll down to dem PACS tactics)
In theory, this was what the Romney campaign was attempting to do in 2012 with ORCA - only applied to election day. But. since their software failed out of the box - it was of no help that day. I may still have smoke coming out of my ears from that one.
In theory they were to load a list of all registered voters for every precinct for contested states (i.e. no need to use this in Idaho) into an app that would be used by monitors in each voting place. When Bob Smith of 123 Main Street comes up to the registrar’s table and identifies himself, the monitor would have entered his name and address into the app and the database in Boston would be updated to reflect that this person had voted at 9:47 am. They would be deducted from the “yet to vote” list and at some point, probably at noon, you would know who voted and who had not yet cast a ballot. You could score the rest of the database for propensity to vote Romney/Ryan and train a call center to contact everyone highly likely to vote for Romey/Ryan and find out what was needed to get them to the polls in time.
Beyond the fact that that software failed at 7:00 am on Election Day and was never restarted, another flaw in the strategy was the difficulty in identifying each voter as they approach the registrar.
The current effort by the Democrats does not surprise me. I just wonder why it is that the GOP is always fighting the last war in terms of technology and strategy.
Oh for crying out loud.
This what political organizations do. Have for a very, very long time. Basic to operations.
Another ridiculous and embarrassing article from TGP and the Hofts. Neverending, nonsensical garbage.
I do not understand the logic of voting “early”, “by mail”, or any other way that identifies the voter on the envelope?
Anonymity is an absolute requirement of elections in a free country.
In an advanced technological era where one’s ballot envelope identifies the voter, you better believe who you voted for will be tracked.
It is all public information, not sure why this is a big deal.
If any of the keyboard jockeys at FR got off their diabetic asses and worked for a campaign, they’d know that tracking who voted, by party, by demo, and then calling and knocking on their doors has been SOP for at least 50 years, if not 250.
which is why you should vote game day only.
and never follow the advice of the Romney wing of the gop.
Hey, give them a break. Being good at cheating takes a lot of preparation and practice.
