He and his family lived just about six houses away from my house back in the 70’s (Brea CA.) He is five years older, so I didn’t hang out or really know him. But everyone in the neighborhood knew of the Cameron family.

“Titanic” is at the bottom of my worst movies ever. Wow! What a missed opportunity! There were so many **true** stories to be told about the lost and surviving passengers, that the **fake** story was like smothering a juicy Prime Rib with Cool Whip. Yuck! I thought I would gag.

In Avatar, James Cameron disparages the military.

Of course that’s the plot. However, some have good/funny dialog and interaction between the characters, depending on the actors. Some small movies are more entertaining than The Avengers Meet Justice League against General Zod clone, or whatever nonsense is being produced.

He figured out what would sell -- and what would sell to young people. They had to be young, attractive, romantic and rebellious. So they weren't going to be Astors, Guggenheims, Wideners, and Strauses.

He wanted to push the love story and the beautiful young people theme so that meant pushing aside anybody more mature. I agree that it was a silly plot, but it sold. Other stories were told in other films or will be told in the future.

I don't see much point in Avatar II, but just about everybody in Hollywood is probably sick of the Marvel movies by now. They just don't say so in public.

I'm afraid it's even worse than that. The characters act like they can fly like birds, shoot energy beams out of their eyes or hands, throw automobiles around as if they were footballs, bullets bounce off their chests....you never see real people doing that.
