Yeah, I don't like "Irish tenors" either.
I can think of many sounds worse than the “trained human voice”. Rap “music”, and pop singers who have to use Autotune are two that spring immediately to mind. Oh yeah, and singers who are so unsure of where the notes are that they’re trying to hit that they constantly have to “slide” up to them....
Yeah, those all have an equal amount of suck as "trained voices".
I’m sure there are others, beside those and the one you mentioned!
Well, how about "the jump-rope girls"...adult female pop stars that sound like little girls....and the "whining castratis"....who sing about love....part of the time in falsetto....

When I worked at a two way radio shop, a fellow technician write up a problem with a radio stating the the “radio makes a sound like an Irish tenor passing a kidney stone”.
