What if the whole Pelousy thing was staged? They waited for someone MAGA to make an ambiguous tweet. Set up DePape, (who Pelousy already had occasional sex with), broke out the window, and called the cops... but no one expected DePape to grab the hammer and hit him. Being found in underwear is the only thing that doesn't really fit.
