Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show (shortened to Dr. Hook in 1975) was an American rock band, formed in Union City, New Jersey. The band had commercial success in the 1970s with hit singles "Sylvia's Mother", "The Cover of 'Rolling Stone'" (both 1972), "Only Sixteen" (1975), "A Little Bit More" (1976), "Sharing the Night Together" (1978), "When You're in Love with a Beautiful Woman" (1979), "Better Love Next Time" (1979), and "Sexy Eyes" (1980). In addition to its own material, Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show performed songs written by the poet Shel Silverstein.
The band had eight years of hits in the United States, where its music was played on Top 40, easy listening, and country music outlets. Thier music included novelty songs, acoustic ballads, and soft rock.

They would never be allowed to make the video for this today.
I always liked Dr Hook
Why are they, and The J. Geils Band, not in the R7 Hall of Fame ??
Wonderful. From a time when men were men and women were women. No confusion.
I have stopped trying to figure out why artists are in or not in the Rock and Roll HOF. Their selection process is so inconsistent that it defies reason.
Completely forgot about this one. It was fairly popular when it came out, I remember, but it’s kind of a rarity now; you sure never hear it played on any of the oldies formatted radio station playlists these days, or anywhere else.
I prefer Mel McDaniel....... “BABY’S GOT HER BLUE JEANS ON”

Great band always having more fun than the audience.
Mel just lit it up. Uplifting fun good times like none other.
How about?;
Neil Diamond - “Forever In Blue Jeans”

Or Bowie’s entry into this subject;

Here’s the full 20 minute backstory to the David Bowie - Jazzin’ For Blue Jean video. It’s the same as the last Bowie link I gave but just expanded. I think it’s worth the time. I regret never seeing him in concert.
Much better than this cheesy crap for sure.
I think there is only one member of that band still alive.🤔
