I'm a little too young to remember those days but my dad saw quite a few games at Ebbets Field and the Polo Grounds. He played in the minors for a couple of years and had the honor of meeting Willie Mays at an exhibition game.

I've hated them since my grandma taught me to hate them. I remember her once, in hospice, sick as all get-out with cancer. She looked over and smiled and said "the Indians struck out Reggie Jackson three times today".

I hated the Yankees, and adopted the Dodgers as a natural reaction to my hatred of the Yankees. I view the Dodgers' time in Los Angeles as akin to the Avignon Papacy.
