Three New York professionals died of fentanyl overdoses after ordering cocaine from the same drug delivery service, leading to charges for the dealer behind the deliveries.
"Julia was a driven professional with everything to live for. Never in a billion years would she have touched anything with fentanyl," Sassan Ghahramani, whose daughter Julia Ghahramani died of a fentanyl overdose, told the Wall Street Journal in a report Sunday. "This is like putting bullets in people’s brains."
Julia Ghahramani, a 26-year-old lawyer who had just started her first job, died of a fentanyl overdose in March 2021. That same day, 40-year-old trading executive Ross Mtangi and 38-year-old social worker Amanda Scher also died of a fentanyl overdose. The three professionals all ordered cocaine from a GrubHub-like delivery service on the same day, but the drugs turned out to be laced with a deadly amount of fentanyl.
The alleged drug dealer in the cases, Billy Ortega, is now facing charges of causing the three deaths and distributing drugs. He has pleaded not guilty in the case and is awaiting trial.
Prosecutors allege that Ortega was a stay-at-home dad selling drugs out of his house in rural New Jersey and used a courier, Kaylen Rainey, to deliver the drugs. Rainey was living in a Manhattan apartment registered to Ortega's family, receiving text message instructions for deliveries from Ortega.

That could be third of Florida’s rural gas stations!
Trump was winning it by enforcing the southern border - but then November 3, 2020 happened. Or rather November 4.

Life in America is fentanyl laced. Is 10% going to the big guy?
>>It will probably be in pot before long if it isn’t already.<<
Not looking forward to the day that it appears in our food supply through contamination via seeding by criminal elements in grocery stores and other outlets.
Can we check our purchased food for fentanyl? Can it appear in our drink-water system?
It is a sting to catch stupid coke heads.
Tactic has been used numerous times over the years.

I remember a time when Tylenol containers were simply capped—and not “double-sealed”.
Dealer? Runner? Lawyer?
The T-shirt marked “protect”?
__________
I was subpoenaed once by a criminal attorney. She quickly exited in the middle of my deposition. The stenographer told me, “Many afternoons, she meets her boyfriend to do cocaine”.
She was a Public Defender, so TAXPAYERS paid for the hour lost for me—and the steno—AND the cocaine!
Why should I be? Do you think the government would sell us pot that isn’t safe?
Is pot itself—a “safe” recreational drug?
You’re too easy.
It just ain’t fun yankin’ yer chain.
Have a good evening.

“Julia was a driven professional with everything to live for. Never in a billion years would she have touched anything with fentanyl”
Sounds to me that she should have bought a test kit, but BLINDLY snorting the stuff.
“The three deaths have now left a void for their families”
Not to mention the drug dealer, who lost three WELL PAYING customers. Oh well, those are the breaks.
But on the brightside she won’t have to pay back her student loans. Just hope her mom wasn’t a cosigner.
“Julia was a driven professional with everything to live for. Never in a billion years would she have touched anything with fentanyl,”
Livin’ on reds, vitamin C, and cocaine.
All her friends can say is ain’t it a shame
I am a retired Nurse Anesthetist. We used high Dose fentanyl for open hearts. Used moderate dose fentanyl for vascular cases. Excellent cardiovascular vascular stability. Fentanyl does not provide amnesia. Often we used versed with fentanyl for cases requiring mild sedation
The reason I know is I overheard the anesthesiologist and fentynal was said and I joked “I hope y’all bought it from a reliable dealer”
The room laugh and I went to sleep.
