Take a MK-19 40mm grenade launcher, load it with minature proximity fuzed munitions, put that in a stablized turret using modern fire control system, with lots of computers, FLIR, laser range finders, and shoot down drones. Looks like Turkey is ahead of the curve on this. There several possible "hard kill" systems to counter drones like the Iranian Shahed 136.
For your interests. For those who have the technical and professional experience with military matters or munitions, I would like to know what your thoughts are on this.
Why hasn’t this equipment been given to the Ukes?
“…programmed to the exact time of detonation while leaving the barrel.”
Can that be true. The munition is at the end of the barrel for microseconds.
Gephard might have advantages in mobility and range and is fully self supported. No auxiliary vehicle needed. IIRC, the Gephard is built on Leopard 1 tank chassis and uses standard 20 or 30mm auto cannons. It can be used for point defense or run with the mech units. Heavy iron. Don't sleep on older tech.
