I spend lots of time in the Montana back country. I roll a Springfield XD-M 10mm in a chest rig. I still feel under gunned (bcz I am for a griz that means biz) The bears are in hyperphagia right now as they fatten up for hibernation. The blacks are big sissies for the most part but the grizz are aggressive, will rip your head off and don’t give AF. Head on a swivel, no ear buds in, make noise, etc and figure out a way to practice shooting targets coming at you at 35mph wanting to kill you.
A grizzly would absolutely scare the crap out of me.
