New released footage showed Florida felons who have served their complete sentences in utter shock as they were arrested by the Tampa police for voter fraud after illegally casting ballots in 2020.
Governor Ron DeSantis announced in August that 20 people who were disallowed by law from voting had been arrested for participating in the state's most recent election.
Several of those individuals were captured on police body cameras reacting with confusion as they were handcuffed and taken to local stations for bookings.
Tony Patterson, 43 and a registered sex offender, said as he was loaded into the back of the car, 'what is wrong with this state man? Voter fraud?
'Y'all said anybody with a felony could vote, man. What do you mean I couldn't vote? I don't know this...Why would y'all let me vote if I wasn't able to vote?'
'This is crazy man,' he said.
The pattern of questioning became the refrain deployed by most of the six people arrested by the Tampa Police Department on the morning of August 18. Most of the ex-felons were quickly bonded out for $1,000 or less.
The felons had been encouraged to register to vote and then allowed to cast ballots. They now saw they were unaware that what they did was illegal.
Each is facing a potential $5,000 fine and five-year prison sentence.

Man I wish we had 50 governors like DeSantis. We would have elections that we could trust. DeSantis should be on TV every day pointing out these arrest and telling others who think about committing voter fraud that they will be caught and prosecuted.
Name the ones above you who got you to vote— sentence reduction.
I’d love to see some snow birds arrested who vote in two states.
Kari Lake will be the next one.
As the J6 prisoners are being treated to be made an example of, vote fraudsters deserve at least the same treatment with no court date, attorney access and with no release date offered, ever.
Now that patriots have a keener observation, they won't be
shy about such things. The whitewash of fraud is never seen
and if it is, its minute and UN important has flown out the
window. It's a new day in Dodge City.
Is this supposed to be an October surprise? The arrests happened in August.
Gutsy move by DeSantis.
