I immediately upon sitting down put my knees against the seat in front of me. When they tried to come back, the seat simply wouldn’t recline. They figured it was broken and quit trying.
I am sure it’s millinals and gen z that are complaining
I always like to take the middle seat and manspread for the duration of the flight
You are correct - I am not retired. I can understand how it is entirely different if retired.
No.
I used to have to fly a lot when I worked.
I have not gotten on a plane since I retired—no more concentration camp beta testing for me!
(If someone wants to buy me a private jet and pay for the pilot that would be another story....)
I’m 6’5” with everything in proportion. If you’re in the seat in front of me, your seat will NOT go back.
My husband is 6’5” and when the seat in front of him reclines it literally crushes his knees. He politely asks the recliner to unrecline and if they refuse sometimes he asks the flight attendant to be moved behind someone else who isn’t reclining.
I don’t fly anymore - thank goodness! When I did, being a fairly large guy, I simply jammed my knees against the seat in front of me, preventing recline. Never got called up on it, either - my “travel face” was distinctly unfriendly.
Have "no reclining" seats and sections and allow passengers to choose their section. If I were to guess, 2/3 to 3/4 of the passengers would opt for no reclining.
Me?
I dislike it when someone of questionable personal habits cranks back into my space.
(I also dislike it when a calorically gifted person of more than generous size blubs their unwelcome and likely unwashed globs of adipose all over me from the side. (This, however being a side issue.)
LOL here we go again!
I don’t mind a seat reclining in front of me.
My pet/big peeve is the jerk behind me pulling my seat back in order to get up. Wakes me up every time!
No, the Pilots seats do not recline.
But, there are no seats in front of or behind the pilots seats. and they are comfortable to sit in and great for long flights.
Years ago when flying, I had never run across anybody who didn’t put their seat upright for a meal, I assumed it was common courtesy. I got my meal and it was super cramped with the guy in front of me still reclining his seat but leaning forward to eat HIS meal. I politely asked him if he would put his seat forward for the meal and the a-hole refused.
Then after the tray tables were up, I put my knees against his seat and slowly pushed it forward & wouldn’t let him recline - then when he discovered what I was doing, he broke something on the seat trying to force it back.
These days we’d probably both get arrested.
I don’t mind when the person in front reclines way back. It makes it easier for me to get my feet up onto the headrest.👣
TSA has made flying such an uncomfortable, tedious experience that I will never fly again unless absolutely necessary.
The real rudeness is that they stack those seats so tight in planes that anybody over 5 foot tall has minimal leg room and can’t even reposition their self in their seat to be comfortable.
And yes, if I paid for the seat, I’ll position it any way I please. It’s not like they actually recline like a Lazy Boy.
