That’s correct, in large part we Gen X-ers parents were part of the Silent Generation who raised by the Greatest Generation who lived through the Depression.
Our parents weren’t giving us everything, you had to go out and earn it, even as a kid - I had my first job at 10 or 11.
I can sympathize with that.
My youngest sister was born in 1969. Her 6th grade class was equally divided by youngest kids raised by silent generation parents or oldest kids raised by boomer parents. That doesn’t happen by accident. My sister was almost exclusively friends with the youngest kids all through high school. The other kids were different.
I wondered what the purpose of the study was, who ran it, how many kids were unknowingly part of it and what the results were.
