UFOs, intelligence and Cassandra’s curse
The Hill ^ | MARIK VON RENNENKAMPFF

Posted on 10/18/2022 2:49:46 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

[In 2017], a stunning exposé of U.S. government efforts to investigate unidentified flying objects appeared in the New York Times. An accompanying article paints a vivid portrait of an extraordinary, multi-witness UFO encounter off the coast of southern California. A follow-on piece describes naval aviators’ frequent observations – corroborated by multiple sensors – of unknown objects exhibiting seemingly highly advanced technology.

*snip*

Critically, officials have high confidence that secret U.S. aircraft or experimental technologies are not responsible for these perplexing encounters. At the same time, analysts have no evidence that a foreign power is behind hundreds of UFO reports.

At this point, any intelligence analyst worth his salt should sound the alarm about the UFO phenomenon.

*snip*

[But] woe to the analyst who presents policymakers with evidence of a compelling, yet entirely unknown, phenomenon that may (or may not) pose a grave threat. Such ambiguity is anathema to rigid bureaucratic structures, missions and mindsets.

Cassandra’s curse strikes even more forcefully if the analyst sounding the alarm on UFOs cannot offer decisionmakers concrete recommendations to address this mysterious phenomenon. Policymakers, after all, are answerable to higher-ranking policymakers who expect options for navigating a particular issue.

At the same time, a unique cognitive trap can impede objective analysis or action on UFOs. If decisionmakers believe that a technology, risk or threat simply cannot exist, then all data indicating otherwise is ignored, trivialized or explained away.

Clarke alludes to this “It can’t be, so it isn’t” phenomenon, writing that policymakers presented with compelling evidence of an impending catastrophe “often go into an implicit state of denial. They may not dispute the evidence and reject the warning, but they don’t act as though they actually believe it to be true.”

This interesting article, though devoid of news, explains why the government (the Pentagon or the bureaucracy) isn't going to be the source of any disclosure.

The Pentagon, to its credit, has been releasing little bits of information about this subject over the years (and much more so lately), but it is unrealistic for us to expect and single pronouncement.

On top of that, it is doubtful that the Pentagon or the government, in general, has any idea what we are dealing with here.

I see that kind of behavior everywhere regarding this issue. Academia has been the most flagrant "victim" of this trap. It's a logical fallacy that ranks right up there with "correlation/cause" errors.

I meant to add the following to comment #3 above:

I honestly believe that many in the billionaire set are involved in the occult and they’ve been informed as to what is to come and to prep the world for what is to come.

To me, this explains much about what the top of the elites are doing and why. I don’t think they are motivated simply to own the world. The socialist is very much interested in their salvation by theiry own hands.

Here’s a ~conspiratorial film you may find interesting. I certainly don’t vouch for any of it, especially the specific details presented, but I do find the general outline of how the government might react/behave internally to such issues as possible.

Interesting point.

If there is a common thread among the people who say they are "experiencers" it is that they are all loose adherents to what might be called "new age religion."

In all the years I have been following this stuff, I have never heard a devout Christian describe himself as an "experiencer."

As an aside, I have a close personal friend--now a devout Christian but not then--see a UFO up close when returning to Vermont from a shopping trip to Montreal. She and two friends and her mother (all remembered it) saw a large UFO hovering over the tree tops...just sitting there.

I asked her if she had any missing time. Her answer: "Not that I know of."

Another gobbledygook article spewing chaff out like a fighter jet being pursued. It leaves nothing on the table but obfuscation and avoidance of the issue. DARPA/DoD just refuses to give up control of the issue. One thing (the existence of UFOs) leads to the ultimate issue of who owns them. DOD knows. They have been in ET contact for decades with some of the entities.

I watched an interview with former CIA officer Jim Semivan this week and the most prominent characteristic he attributed to whatever these entities are is that they are deceitful. He called them "tricksters."

I am keeping an open mind, but so far there is nothing that would eliminate the possibility that they fit the Biblical narrative of Ephesians 6:12. (and the "Prince of the Power of the Air" description of you know who)

The government is loath to admit there is anything they can’t control. This explains the government distain for religion and God as well as any ETs with superior technical capabilities.

The DOD isn't a single monolithic entity. Like it or not, it is a massive bureaucracy with thousand of stove-piped nooks and crannies, some of which have the information you mention re: contact with these "entities."

Even the upper levels of the Pentagon have no idea what is hidden away...and, for purposes of plausible deniability, they are not going to be told.

This article, though certainly not a discussion of what the government knows, explains simply why it would be naive to expect the government to unambiguously disclose what it knows.

Just ain't gonna happen.

All that said, those in the government have been releasing little dribs and drabs of information that do paint a pretty clear picture of what we are dealing with (as they understand it). That's probably the most we can expect.

Or the government made a deal to not interfere with abductions/mutilations in exchange for technology, and got conned and now there’s nothing they can do to rectify the situation.

Man is no longer awed by bushes spontaneously bursting into flames, miracles, or cloud formations looking like angels. God can do anything He wants to get our attention including mimicking technology we don’t understand.

...they are deceitful...tricksters

Other people who have insider knowledge have said the same thing. John Lear and William Cooper come to mind.

That does not necessarily make them demons or fallen angels. People are exactly the same. Just look at the behavior of liberals right now. They appear demon possessed. People I encounter here on FR are often nasty. Just because people come from "out there" and possess higher technology would they be any nicer than run of the mill people.

...has any idea what we are dealing with here...

I am pretty sure there groups within the government who know exactly what is going on. The compartmentalization is pretty tight and strictly enforced.

There were death bed confessions by four officers who were at Roswell when that crash event occurred. They were positive that that was an ET ship because they viewed and handled it directly.

That does not necessarily make them demons or fallen angels.

I agree. We know nothing about this "other" world. It is probably infinitely more complicated than the "demons/fallen angels" conceptions we have. There may be a vast gray area between good and evil in this other world that we haven't even begun to consider.

That said, I recommend we proceed carefully and cautiously...trusting no one.
