That’s a risk you take if you chose to hand feed a wild animal. I’ve seen something close happen with somebody feeding horses or goats. When they’re eating, they see with their noses and tounges, not with their eyes.

We do this all the time in the Keys. People even pay to do it at Robbies.

Was with a relative that has a few horses... Stops to pick something at a friend’s farm, and he says “show him your hand”.

Massive scars!
He said he was giving the horse a treat and NOT PAYING ATTENTION, three fingers bit off!

They introduced me to the horse that did it.
They pointed out all the muscles that work the jaw and how short the jaw is creating lots of leverage.

No hard feelings between him and his Appaloosa.
