When I closed mine, I first removed all linked payment methods, then closed it.
All linked accounts were automatically closed.
Yep, that’s the process I followed too and I got a message that said I had subscription payments that had to be removed before my account could be closed. Funny thing, I never set up any PayPal subscription payments. They had converted any merchant I used in the past few years to a subscription account.
