The scientific community does not like the terms amateur astronomer, amateur scientist etc, so they always play with the terminology. ie; “Citizen scientist”. As if actual scientist are not citizens. In fact, on occasion, the scientific community has attempted to take credit for discoveries make by amateur astronomers.☺
